How the work is performed
Cutting Edge General Contracting is your contracting party — the company that signs your contract, pulls the permit and stands behind the work. Roofing is installed by a licensed C-39 roofing contractor under subcontract, as California Business and Professions Code section 7057(b) provides.
Carpentry, including dry rot, fascia and sheathing repair, is performed directly under our own licence.
How we price
By the square, published on this site, applied to your roof's measured size. No pressure discount that expires tonight, and no number invented at the kitchen table.
Your protections
- Deposit capped at $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less
- A written contract with scope, materials and payment schedule before work starts
- Three-day right to cancel on home improvement contracts — five days if you are 65 or older
- You can verify any California contractor's licence at cslb.ca.gov, including ours

- Who actually installs the roof?
- A licensed C-39 roofing contractor, working under subcontract to Cutting Edge General Contracting. Cutting Edge holds the contract, pulls the permit and is responsible for the job. Carpentry and dry rot repair are performed under our own General Building licence.

- Search CSLB #1007180 at cslb.ca.gov. That shows the licence status, classification, bond and any history — for us or for any other contractor you are considering.
